About Quantumult X 1.7.0 for Mac
Quantumult X is a network configuration and debugging tool created by Cross Utility Ltd, initially for iOS and later extended to macOS, iPad and Apple TV. This isn't a simple one-tap VPN, but rather is built for web developers and users who want fine-tune control over how their Mac's network traffic is routed, inspected and modified. It is a complete rewrite of the original Quantumult codebase and needs macOS 11.0 or later. The app is regularly updated, the latest version is 1.7.0. It also has a few new features, including the addition of support for the Reality TLS and AnyTLS proxy protocols, and other bug fixes and performance improvements. Quantumult X is not a simple proxy client, it is designed to customise proxies and debug at the HTTP level. On the networking side, it supports shadowsocks protocol (with obfs-tls and obfs-http plugins, and shadowsocks-over-websocket-and-TLS via a v2ray-core-deployed server), UDP relay, and rule-based traffic filtering by host, host suffix or host keyword. For the developer it can capture full http requests and responses (including body) when http debug is enabled, decrypt https traffic via MitM if trusted, and rewrite http requests or responses with URL redirects or header / body modification. All configuration is done in plain-text profile files, giving experienced users exact, scriptable control over routeing behaviour, rather than a simple on/off interface.
