About AltTab Pro 11.5.0 for Mac
AltTab Pro is a macOS window-switcher by Louis Pontoise (lwouis) that aims to bring the familiar Windows-style Alt-Tab experience to the Mac. The main app, AltTab, is free and open source under a GPL-3.0 license. It allows you to cycle through every open window, not just one icon per app like macOS's native Command+Tab, and has live thumbnail previews for all apps and Spaces. Version 11.0 added a paid AltTab Pro tier to the free core, and version 11.5.0 continues the app’s active update cycle with a series of stability fixes and a notable app-size reduction. The difference with AltTab is that it has per-window granularity, unlike the built-in switcher on macOS which groups all open documents or browser tabs under one icon. AltTab shows each window separately with a live thumbnail, so users can switch directly to a window with a single keystroke instead of having to click through the Dock or Mission Control. From this free foundation, the Pro tier adds typed search across window and app names, alternate switcher layouts (App Icons or Titles-only list styles), auto-sizing thumbnails, and up to nine independent, separately configurable keyboard shortcut profiles. AltTab requires Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions to be able to list and capture window thumbnails, and the developer states that the app does not collect any telemetry.
