About Presentify Screen Annotation 8.1.2 for Mac

Presentify - Screen Annotation is a macOS menu bar app by Softal Limited that enables users to draw, highlight and annotate over any screen content – be it a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation, PDF, code editor or video call. Presentify doesn’t reside in one specific app, it’s an overlay that sits on top of whatever you have on your screen. This makes it great for online teachers, tutors, sales demo presenters and anyone recording video tutorials who wants to point things out live without having to switch tools. The app has been featured several times by Apple, and is listed in the App Store as a screen annotation tool that is recommended and used by professors at Harvard and MIT. The 8.1.2 update is a maintenance release fixing a bug that affected annotation on top of full-screen apps for some users. It follows 8.1.0 which added a Dock icon to the existing menu bar icon. In addition to the basic drawing tools, Presentify also includes an Interactive Mode that allows you to annotate while still being able to interact with the app underneath (by holding down the Fn or Caps Lock key), Cursor Highlight to keep the audience’s eyes on the pointer, Spotlight mode to darken everything except the cursor area, and a Zoom tool that makes the cursor into a magnifying glass — all designed for live, real-time presenting rather than post-production video editing.

Key Features

Users can draw directly over any app or window by selecting "Annotate Screen" from the menu bar, with a wide range of drawing shapes available, plus the ability to add text, straight lines (by holding Shift), and semi

transparent fills for rectangles and circles (by holding Option).

This mode allows Presentify to run in the background so you can continue to use the underlying app

going through slides, playing videos, etc. – but still be able to annotate by pressing and holding the Fn key or alternatively, Caps Lock.

Support for full

screen applications

Spotlight dims everything on the screen except the cursor, and lets you control the size, shape and opacity of the darkened area

useful if you want to draw your audience’s attention during a demo.

Presentify can trigger almost any action within the app

from starting annotation, to switching tools, changing colours, to adjusting line weight – from within any app using a keyboard shortcut. Shortcuts can also be remapped to suit individual workflows.

Command

click or Command-drag to select items to move or delete without affecting the rest of the drawing. annotated screenshots can also be copied to the clipboard and annotations copied and pasted.

Multi

device and peripherals support

Presentify supports drawing tablets from Wacom, XP

Pen and others, and also supports iPad input via Sidecar, Astropad or Duet, providing presenters with a more natural pen-based control over annotations.
