Magic Battery is a menu bar utility for Mac from independent developer Sascha Simon that shows the battery level of Bluetooth devices, along with details about the Mac’s own battery. It watches supported input devices and headphones connected over Bluetooth and keeps their charge status visible in the menu bar, so a mouse, keyboard, or pair of AirPods doesn’t unexpectedly run out of power mid-task. The app supports a range of Apple and some third-party devices. On the input side, that includes the Apple Magic Mouse and Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2, the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Wireless Trackpad, and Logitech devices such as the MX Anywhere 3, Logitech Pebble, and K-series keyboards. For audio, it supports AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and several Beats models, and it can also show battery levels for iPhones and iPads. It also reports the internal battery’s percentage and how long it should last. Users can choose a detailed, compact, or icon-only view, and the app detects connected and disconnected devices automatically, adjusting the display to match. It can also notify users when a device’s battery reaches 20% and can start automatically at login.
