About Magic Battery 10.0.1 for Mac

Magic Battery is a Bluetooth battery monitoring utility for macOS by Sascha Simon that displays the charge level, runtime and charging status of connected devices right from the menu bar. Magic Battery, in contrast, consolidates all the accessories it supports, mice, keyboards, trackpads, headphones and the Mac’s own internal battery into a single view you can look at a glance, rather than having to dig through the Bluetooth menu one device at a time. Version 10.0.1 fixes the main window to reopen at the size and position it was last left, hot on the heels of the larger update in version 10.0.0 that introduced runtime predictions and charging-time estimates. What sets Magic Battery apart from the default battery indicators in macOS is its predictive intelligence: it doesn't just show a raw percentage, but instead tracks how fast the battery is draining for each device over time and guesses when it will run out — "Thursday," or "6 PM," not "43%." The same logic applies in reverse for charging: a device placed on its charger displays a lightning bolt and an estimated time until it’s full, changing to “Charged” once complete. It supports Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and wireless keyboards, Logitech mice and keyboards (MX Anywhere series, Pebble, K series), AirPods, Beats, Bose and Sony headphones (left and right earbuds are reported separately) and anything that advertizes its level over Bluetooth LE battery service. No account. No upload. No tracking. The app is all local on-device processing.

Predictive Runtime Estimates (PREs)

Shows the Mac’s own battery charge, health, cycle count, condition and time remaining. Explains why the Mac isn’t charging when plugged in

whether that’s due to optimized charging, a charge limit or temperature.
