Ultrapool doesn't center on a traditional narrative; instead, its premise is a late-night pool bar that's always open, where the player takes on the role of a pool hustler assembling increasingly strange sets of balls to impress a series of demanding bartenders. As runs progress, the bar's cocktail-mixing mechanic and its cast of bartenders add personality and escalating challenge to what starts as a simple game of pocketing colorful, wacky billiard balls.

Gameplay centers on assembling a triangle of balls, each carrying its own discoverable special ability, and pocketing them to generate score across 10-round runs. Earned score converts into currency spent at the in-game bar to buy new balls or upgrade an existing set, while the cocktail bar's fusion mechanic — mixing any two balls into a new, often unpredictable combination — adds a deeper layer of buildcrafting once unlocked, with the demanding "All Nighter" difficulty and daily challenges offering additional structured goals for experienced players.
