Stardew Valley is an indie game made almost entirely by one developer, Eric Barone, who goes by ConcernedApe. It first came out on PC in February 2016. Mac support followed as a free update in July 2016. You inherit your grandfather’s overgrown farm and slowly turn it into something that makes money. Along the way you fish, mine caves, make friends with the townspeople, and help restore the run-down community center. Nothing forces you down one path, so every save plays a little differently. Version 1.6.15 is a smaller patch on top of the big 1.6 update. It adds some quality-of-life changes and fixes several rare crashes.

Build your own farm. Grow crops, raise animals, plant an orchard and craft machines that turn your harvest into more valuable goods. Online co-op for up to 8 players. Invite up to 7 friends to share a farm online. The game also supports LAN and split-screen co-op. Five skills to level up. Farming, mining, combat, fishing and foraging each unlock new recipes, areas and profession choices as you improve. A town full of characters. Over 30 villagers have their own schedules, birthdays and story scenes. Twelve of them can be courted and married. Caves to explore. Go deeper underground for monsters, weapons, gems and crafting materials. Controller support. An Xbox controller works with rumble, though you still need a keyboard for typing text.
