No Retreat! The Russian Front 1.1.11 Story
No Retreat! The Russian Front frames its story around the historical struggle between Nazi Germany's invading forces and the Soviet Union's Red Army from 1941 to 1945, following the campaign from the initial Barbarossa invasion through Case Blue, Stalingrad's Uranus counteroffensive, Kursk's Citadel battle, the Bagration offensive, and the final push on Berlin. Rather than a scripted narrative, the story emerges through each scenario's shifting front lines, as players experience the German Wehrmacht's early dominance gradually give way to the Red Army's growing strength and sophistication over the course of the war.
No Retreat! The Russian Front 1.1.11 Gameplay
Players command either German/Axis or Soviet forces on a hex-based map, managing roughly 70 army and front-sized units through a turn structure of Draw, Organization, Movement, Combat, and Supply phases, with each turn representing about two months of wartime operations. A 55-card deck per side can be played as historical events or spent to fuel actions like reorganizing or reinforcing units, while an asymmetric combat table, terrain, and seasonal weather effects shape the outcome of battles across six historical scenarios or the full 1941-45 campaign, playable solo, against AI, or in multiplayer.
