Following the events of the Sword of Frost, Gelu — wielder of Armageddon's Blade — clashes with the Barbarian King Kilgor, and the resulting explosion, known as the Reckoning, destroys the world of Enroth entirely. Survivors flee through mysterious portals to a new world called Axeoth, where six interwoven campaigns follow returning and new heroes, including the necromancer Gauldoth Half-Dead and the revolutionary leader Emilia Nighthaven, as they navigate power struggles, magic, and survival in this unfamiliar land.
