Blackwell Deception 4.0 Story
Some time after the events of Blackwell Convergence, Rosa Blackwell receives a call from a former co-worker asking her to investigate a case. Street psychics with blinking neon signs promise love, wealth, and happiness across the city, making a fortune preying on the gullible but when their victims begin dying and leaving confused spirits behind, only a genuine psychic and her wayward spirit guide can uncover the truth and clean up the mess, eventually leading Rosa to track down the larger organization behind a full-scale "Ghost Investigation" agency.
Blackwell Deception 4.0 Gameplay
Gameplay follows the established Blackwell formula: players explore hand-drawn 2D locations, gather clues and inventory items, and engage in dialogue with a cast of characters to piece together the central mystery. Players regularly switch between Rosa, who interacts with the physical world and living characters, and Joey, whose ghostly abilities passing through walls and speaking directly with other spirits unlock puzzle solutions and story progress unavailable to Rosa alone, culminating in confrontations with the troubled ghosts left behind by the psychics' fraudulent schemes.
