About Red Giant VFX Suite 1.5.2 for Mac
Red Giant VFX Suite is a collection of visual effects plugins for Adobe After Effects, some of the tools are also compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro. The suite, developed by Red Giant (now part of Maxon Computer GmbH), bundles compositing, tracking, keying, cleanup and lighting tools into one package for filmmakers, motion designers and VFX artists working within a standard compositing pipeline. Version 1.5.2 is a point update to the VFX Suite 1.5 release line and adds the Lens Distortion Matcher tool and enhancements to existing tools like Supercomp, King Pin Tracker, Optical Glow and Shadow. Unlike the average effects pack, what makes VFX Suite special is the Supercomp engine, a dedicated compositing environment inside After Effects that applies lighting and atmospheric interactions across multiple layers at once, instead of one layer at a time, resulting in results closer to how light behaves in a real scene. King Pin Tracker and Spot Clone Tracker offer planar tracking and object/blemish removal right in the After Effects timeline for tracking and cleanup, minimizing the need to jump between separate tracking apps. Note that Red Giant has since evolved into a continuously updated, Maxon-branded release line (now on version 2025.x), so 1.5.2 is a legacy build. Current Mac users are generally better served installing the latest version through an active Maxon subscription for full Apple Silicon optimization and ongoing support.
