P565 Siren is a filter effect plugin from Pulsar Modular (Pulsar Novation Ltd) that combines the character of two highly sought after pieces of hardware: the UREI 565T Filter Set and the Moog Ladder Filter. P565 Siren is available as an AU, VST3 and AAX plugin for macOS and Windows. It is a Universal 2 Binary and supports natively Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Developed since 2022, and still in development, with version 3.0.0 released on June 30, 2024. Adds a custom delay circuit. Optimised code. Unlike a standard filter plugin, P565 Siren combines vintage hardware emulation with deep modulation options. It has continuously variable high and low pass filters with 12 or 24 dB/octave slopes, as well as a signature 18 dB option, and two continuously variable band filters from 20 Hz to 20 kHz that can be used as reject or pass filters, including a King Tubby-style step filter mode for dub and reggae-inspired sounds. A configurable envelope follower can dynamically modulate the filter frequency, either from an external sidechain input or the plugin’s own internal signal, with dedicated drive and overdrive circuits adding transformer-based warmth or pushing sounds into deliberate distortion. The plugin is targeted at professional musicians, sound designers and mix and mastering engineers. Pulsar Modular offers a fully functional 30-day demo for two computers.
