dbdsp NeuralOutboard 3.2.3

NeuralOutboard is a Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) plugin from dbdsp audio that reproduces the saturation and harmonic character of real analog hardware using neural network captures loaded into two independent slots. With GPU-accelerated processing for high oversampling rates, a Zero-Latency GPU Mode for tracking, and NAM Sets & Morph for blending related captures, it brings authentic analog color to vocals, drums, bass, synths, or a full mix.

About dbdsp NeuralOutboard 3.2.3 for Mac

NeuralOutboard is an audio saturation plugin developed by dbdsp audio, an independent audio-software studio built by producer Dariusz Baj. Rather than relying on traditional mathematical modeling to approximate analog hardware, NeuralOutboard is built around Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) captures — neural network snapshots trained directly on real analog gear — letting users load and process audio through the captured character of actual outboard equipment inside their DAW. What sets NeuralOutboard apart is its combination of a flexible two-slot neural capture engine with genuine GPU-accelerated processing. Users can load NAM (.nam) capture files into two independent slots, supporting both the newer A2 architecture and legacy A1 models, and shape the result with adjustable drive, dry/wet blending, Stereo and Mid-Side processing, and oversampling. A NAM Sets & Morph feature goes further, letting an entire series of related captures — such as one instrument recorded at multiple drive settings — be stored in a single preset and smoothly morphed between.

Key Features

Neural model processing can be run on the graphics card rather than the CPU, activated with a single button, enabling oversampling rates that would overwhelm standard CPU threads

— powered by Metal on macOS and Direct3D 12 on Windows.

Zero

— Latency GPU Mode

A secondary GPU processing mode introduces zero added latency, making it suitable for real

— time monitoring and tracking through the plugin, though it supports fewer simultaneous instances than the standard GPU mode.

The oversampling engine was rebuilt in version 3.2 and runs roughly three times faster than before, directly enabling the higher GPU

— accelerated instance counts available in this release.

An entire series of related captures

— for example, a single instrument recorded at various drive settings — can be stored within a single preset and smoothly morphed between using a dedicated control.

Phase

— Correct Latency Alignment

Latency is measured per loaded model and reported to the host DAW, with the dry signal path aligned inside the plugin so the Dry/Wet mix stays phase

— correct at any oversampling factor or filter setting, while the host compensates automatically.

Stereo and Mid

— Side Processing

Captured processing can be applied in either standard Stereo or Mid

— Side mode, adapting the saturation character to different stereo imaging needs.
