Melodyne 5 Studio is the flagship pitch and time editing software from Celemony Software GmbH, a company based in Munich, Germany. Celemony describes Studio as “the complete Melodyne.” It includes all the technologies, functions and possibilities of the software, giving users the tools to easily edit any instrument and meet the needs of everyday studio production. It can be used as a standalone application or as a plug-in (VST3, AU, AAX) inside a DAW and has ARA (Audio Random Access) support when used with compatible hosts such as Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo and Studio One. The real differentiator of Melodyne compared to other pitch-correction software is DNA (Direct Note Access) technology, which can detect and allow editing of individual notes in polyphonic recordings (i.e. piano, guitar, or even full mixes), not just monophonic vocal or instrument lines. Studio edition offers unlimited multitrack editing, letting users view and edit the notes of as many tracks as they want at the same time, putting the harmonies, melodies and rhythms of a project into context. Studio is aimed at professionals needing deep control of notes across a full production, not just one track. In addition to the Chord Track, Melodyne 5 introduced the Fade Tool and Leveling Macro.
